About Us
American Capital Properties LLC ("ACP") is a privately owned commercial real estate company. Since 2003, ACP has completed approximately $50,000,000 in commercial property acquisitions. ACP currently has over a quarter million square feet of commercial real estate in its portfolio of holdings/management throughout California, Nevada, Texas and Florida. American Capital Properties LLC was founded by Marc Tavakoli and H. Joseph Soleiman. Marc Tavakoli Prior to founding ACP, Marc was a litigator in New York at the Wall Street law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where he represented corporations in complex litigation matters. In 2001, Marc returned to California to practice law as a litigator representing multi-national corporations at the Los Angeles office of Piper Rudnick LLP. As a lawyer, Marc represented clients such as Goldman Sachs, MCI, AIG, Burger King and Citibank. Marc is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law in New York, New York. Marc received his Bachelor of Arts with College Honors from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he majored in Business Economics and minored in Accounting. Marc is a member of the New York and California State Bar Associations. He is also a Broker registered with the California Department of Real Estate. H. Joseph Soleiman Prior to founding ACP, Joseph was a corporate transactional attorney in the Los Angeles and Palo Alto offices of the New York law firm of Dewey Ballantine LLP. Focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets work at Dewey Ballantine, Joseph represented clients such as Disney, Honda, UBS Warburg, GE Capital, Pequot Financial, Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual. Joseph has been involved in deals totaling over approximately $100 million in transactional value. Joseph also has extensive international corporate transactional experience. While at Dewey, Joseph represented international clients in as far ranging locales as Sydney, Australia and Hong Kong, China. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joseph was with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement, where he investigated insider trading and other fraudulent activities on the national securities exchanges. Joseph is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, located in San Francisco, California, where he graduated with College Honors. Joseph received his Bachelor of Arts, with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors, from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he majored in Business Economics and minored in Accounting. Joseph is a member of the California State Bar Association. He is also a Broker registered with the California Department of Real Estate. |
